    Music streaming service Spotify will personalize the playlists of subscribers based on their DNA though a partnership with genealogy company Ancestry.
    Spotify and Ancestry's custom playlist generator will choose a range of songs reflecting the cultural music of users' heritage based on where their ancestors came from. The playlist curation is free, but the genealogy DNA test kit costs around $100.

    Spotify is cracking down on users who may be taking advantage of the “Premium for Family” discount by requiring some to confirm that they live in the same household.
    The music streaming service sent an email to some family account users in the U.S. and Germany that said it wanted to confirm their location using GPS, Quartz reports.     Spotify has ended a test that required its family plan subscribers to verify their location, or risk losing accessing to its music streaming service. According to recent reports, the company had sent out emails to its “Premium for Family” customers which asked them to confirm their locations using GPS. The idea here is that some customers may have been sharing Family Plans, even though they're not related, as a means of paying less for Spotify by splitting the plan's support for multiple users.
