    Martin Sorrell's new venture acquired Dutch digital agency MediaMonks Multimedia Holding BV, beating his former employer WPP Plc in the auction and setting up a possible clash with the advertising powerhouse.
    Sorrell's S4 Capital Ltd. is paying the owners of Amsterdam-based MediaMonks in shares of his investment company as well as cash, according to a statement Tuesday that didn't include other terms. Bloomberg first reported that the deal could come as soon as Tuesday, with Sorrell outbidding WPP wppgy and rival suitors to pay about 300 million euros .

    Sir Martin Sorrell quit as CEO of WPP in April amid an internal conduct investigation.
    He returned to the market six weeks later with S4 Capital, a vehicle for acquisitions.
    S4 Capital has struck its first deal: a €300 million takeover of Dutch digital agency MediaMonks.
    WPP was also looking at buying MediaMonks and says Sorrell used proprietary information from his time as CEO. The ad giant claims Sorrell has breached his contract and BI understands WPP intends to withhold future share bonus payouts.
