Flights at a major airport in Lyon, France, have been grounded after a man drove a car onto a runway on Monday, the Associated Press reported, citing authorities.
The man first drove the wrong way down a highway and crashed into a barrier at a small aerodrome - where planes take off and land - before heading toward Lyon's Saint-Exupéry international airport, the Associated Press said, citing local government spokeswoman Christelle Monteagudo.
The suspect then rammed his car through two glass doors at the airport and sped onto the runway, Monteagudo said. Police have since detained him.
